Welcome to the website of An Charraig Mhor GFC

The new An Charraig Mhór GFC club website was launched by club President Anna Mc Caughey at the function to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1961 Championship win on Saturday November 19th in the Old Charm Inn, Carrickmore. 

The website covers 80 years of history of our hugely successful club and it is a resource for everyone who loves ‘Carmen’ to be proud of our achievements thus far and look forward to great days in the future. 

The site includes a wide range of original images and documentation from the origins of the club in the 1930’s to the present day and has a huge gallery of images of our games, culture and club activities many of which have not been seen before. 

This is a Club Community site so anyone who has pictures, documents or DVDs relating to club life is encouraged to get in touch and these can be added to the site and all original documents will be returned.  

A large part of the new website includes a ‘Gallery’ which has developed into an archive of pictures and documents relating to the club from 1932 to the present.

Feedback to date has been very positive with many unseen photographs and documents of interest to past and present players, committee members and supporters. 

Thanks to all those who have contributed documents or photos to the gallery and especially to Finbar Grogan and the Grogan family who have made Paddy’s archived material available to the club.

Anna Mc Caughey’s detailed record of 1980 -1981 for the Club of the Year Award has also become a most interesting feature of the 80’s section of the Gallery. 

 Thanks also to Cormac McAleer and Martin Gallagher who have been photographing club activities for some time now and many of their images appear on the site. ‘Teen’ in particular should be thanked for his time and dedication in relation to collating archive images and also taking the photos for the Merchandise section.

New documents and images are always welcome so if you have anything that you wish to contribute please get in touch with the club.
