Club Notes November 15th 2011

The new Club website will go live on Monday November 21st at 12noon.

The senior season drew to a close last Sunday with a defeat in the league final. The 50th celebration of the 1961 Senior Championship will take place in the Old Charm Inn on 19th November. The initial part of the night, beginning at 7.30, will be for the team members/representative of a team member and a partner but everyone else is welcome after the meal (8.45) to share in this night of celebration which will include a presentation to re-live the memories of the ’61 victory.

The new club website will also be officially unveiled on that night. The site is a huge resource for our local GAA family documenting 80 years of our brilliant Club history. We are hosting the next round of Scor in the Dean Maguirc College on Sunday 20th.  We are participating in Ceili and Set Dancing, Solo Singing and Recitation.  Good luck to all involved, all support appreciated.  All committee members are asked to arrive for 5pm if possible.

Due to a clash of dates with the Scor the AGM will be moved to a later date – members will be informed in due course. In the meantime nomination/motion forms in the clubrooms no later than 9pm on the 18th of November. Forms can be returned to the clubrooms and in the event of them being closed, forms can be left in the post box at the main entrance. Those members wishing to receive a form by post can contact Pat Nugent 80761127or Paula Cuddy 80761939 asap.

The club are running a ‘Come Dine With Me’ fundraiser with the intention being that members/supporters or anyone involved with the club will host a meal in their homes between with contributions to the host donated to the club. It will run from 25th Nov to 10th Dec. Anyone who would like to host one of these nights please get in touch with Etaoine O’Kane 07704913303 or Eilish Gormley 07769266002. All hosts will go into a draw with the prize being a 200 euro voucher for Mc Nean house leading restaurant of chef Neven Maguire in Blacklion.

Good luck to our neighbours Sperrin Og in the All Ireland Ladies Junior Final. A number of the team went to school in Dean Maguirc College playing on the team that reached the Colleges All Ireland Final. Lets hope they and they team mates can go one step further this time.
