Club Notes March 19th 2012

Congratulations to the Dean Maguirc College Team which won the inagural Ward Cup.

The Dean Maguirc College lads and their managers Enda Kilpatrick and Terry Mc Cann brought the inaugural Ward Cup to Carrickmore last week securing another Ulster title to the school by defeating Southern Regional College Armagh in the final at Edendork. 


The senior league will begin on Sunday April 1st with a home game to historic rivals Moortown. The senior championship will not take place until August. Minor training continues as advised for their first league match at end of month.


The U16 boys play Dromore on Saturday at 4pm at home. They continue to train as advised. Training for U14 boys continues on Thursday evening at 7pm at Pairc Colmcille. 


FUN-damentals for P1 and P2 children continues on Tues nights in the ‘Dean’ for 4 more weeks of coaching from 7 to 8pm. A parent must accompany each child. 

Membership for 2012 closes on Monday night 26th March.  Forms are available at the clubrooms or can be downloaded.  £5 youth, £20 adult and can be paid to any committee member or left in box at the clubrooms.

The next club quiz night takes place in the Old Charm Inn at the start of April – more details later. Attendance is building steadily but we need a big effort next time round to make this a success. 

ACTIV8 is going strong in to week four with 220 members taking part. The Active 8 ‘Olympics’ is taking place on Sunday at the pitch.   Watch website and face book for updates. The closing night of celebration for Active8 is to be Easter Monday night – more details later. 


Summer Camp will be on the week beginning July 9th.

An Charraig Mhór Ladies

The senior Ladies training continues as advised for the beginning of the ‘non-county’ senior league (without county players) starting on 31st March and senior league starting on 7th April at home to Glenelly with a 6pm throw in.


The minor girls play Fintona on Monday evening 26th March at home at 6.30pm. Training continues as advised this week with next matched scheduled for 25th March. 


Training for U14 girls continues as advised for Feile at the end of the month.  Their first league match is away to Ardboe on Monday 2nd April.
