Club Notes June 4th 2012

Club members were deeply shocked by the untimely death of our gifted past player P.J Treanor last week.

Our thoughts are with the Treanor and Mc Mahon families at this time and especially with Mickey our committee member and Alanagh our senior ladies player. Thanks to those from the ‘3-in-a-row’ team and the committee who formed the guard of honour at the funeral on Sunday.

The senior’s and reserves play Coalisland at home in the rescheduled league games on Wed night at 6.45 and 8pm.

The U-16’s lost out by the narrowest of margins to Omagh and Errigal Ciaran in what were two highly entertaining games that either team could have won.

Training for U12 boys continues on Mondays and Thursdays in Magilligan at 7pm.

The Thursday night youth coaching continues this week for under 8’s and under 10’s from 7 -8pm at Pairc Colmcille. The outdoor phase of FUN-damentals continues for parents and children at 7pm on Thursday nights at Pairc Colmcille.  It is imperative that a parent attends with each child and remains for the duration of the session. Guidelines laid down in the GAA Child Protection Policies and Procedures mean that this is compulsory. From now on children can not attend without a parent.

Over the next few weeks the club will be proceeding with the vetting procedure in line with the GAA Child Protection Policy. This applies to all coaches, committee and regular volunteers including grounds-men and members that regularly frequent the clubrooms and who have not already completed the Access NI vetting procedure. Those who did not collect and complete forms on Monday the 28th need to do so asap. We want to assure everyone concerned that this process will be treated with the utmost discretion and confidentiality

Tickets for the Tyrone match will be distributed to those members at the clubrooms on Thursday evening 7th June from 8pm to 8.30 for collection and payment.

The monthly committee meeting will take place on Monday 11th  June at 8.30 pm. Lotto: Numbers 5,13,18,23,24. There were nine winners with 3 numbers.

There will be better days ahead.

Congratulations and well done to our U14 girls and their coaches for a great display against Galbally to progress to Championship final later in the month.
