Club Notes August 9th

The seniors were pushed all the way by Cookstown last Friday night but showed character to win out in the closing staged when it really mattered.

The reserves had to settle for a draw after a late goal from Cookstown. On Sunday we renew acquaintances with old rivals Moortown with the games at 2.15 (Res) and 3.45 (Sen) away. The Juniors travelled to Killeeshil last week and turned in a very good display against one of the top teams in that division. Despite loosing out in the end they continue to show very credible progress at this level. Next up is Brackaville which was re fixed for the same time as the senior game (Sunday 3.45) away but watch press for an alternative day/time due to the clash. The U-16's play Cappagh at home on Wednesday night at 7.30.  Congratulations to the U-12's who played in the Go Games at half time in the Tyrone game. Thanks to Leo Cuddy  and Conor Loughran for taking charge of the lads on the day. Thanks also to the parents for their continued support and to Youth Officer Ryan Daly for his tireless work. A special word to the lads who done themselves, their families and the club proud by playing on the biggest stage in the game. Commiserations to Conor and Mark after defeat in Saturdays All Ireland quarter-final. They represented themselves, their families and the club with distinction and have much to be proud of. The club would like anyone who is interested in being trained in the use of the defibrillator to contact Pat Nugent (80761127). They need to be willing to have their name added to a list of people who would be called upon should an emergency arise which necessitates the use of the defibrillator. The club would like to extend our sympathy to the families of the following who passed away recently. Gavin Mimnagh, Alice Mc Garvey, Teresa Baxter, Aiden Mullan. May they rest in peace. Lotto Numbers: 5.8.10.20.25: 1 winner of £100 with 4 numbers. Mairead Mc Elhatton. Next weeks jackpot £5200.

An Chárraig Mhór Ladies

Our Senior ladies have progressed to the league semi-final where they will play Glenelly. That fixture date will depend on the fortunes of the  Tyrone ladies this weekend. Good luck to Gemma, Roisin, Eilish and Tyrone Senior ladies in their qualifier match against Laois on Saturday. Good luck also to Dearbhla, Jessica, Niamh and the Tyrone U16 panel who were play Cork at the weekend. Training for U16 girls continues as advised wit the league underway. They defeated the Rock in the first game to get things off to a great start.  Youth coaching for U10 girls continues on Thursday evening from 7-8pm.
