U16 boys training continues on Wednesday nights at 7.30 at Pairc Colmcille and 4pm on Saturday. Boys to bring boots and trainers. U14 boys are out on Saturday mornings at the youth club - 10am to 11.30am. Minor girls have also started training - Tuesday and Thursdays at 6 – 7pm at Pairc Colmcille and 10-11am on Sunday morning at Fr Magilligan. Scor Sinsear takes place in Kileeshil on Jan 27th and the club are participating in a number of events. The first club event of the year kicks off with a four night quiz tournament starting on this Friday the 27th of January for four consecutive Friday nights. Team Registration is at 8.30 with the quiz starting at 9pm. Teams of 5 will enter a league format and the winning team will get a prize awarded at the club presentation night! Teams pay £100 entry fee for the tournament for the four nights and an optional £5 per night fee per team for an extra bonus round. Contact Ryan Mc Callan on 07990690929 to enter your team.The club will be hosting the semi-final of Scor Sinsear in Dean Maguirc College on Fri Feb 10th at 8pm. Registration night for all members to pay their membership will take place on Thursday Feb 2nd from 7 – 9.30 pm. It is important that all players register or they can not participate in training or matches. Membership is £20 for adults and £5 for children. Registration forms are now available for download from the website (Latest News on home page) to cut down on time filling out forms on the night. The club are supporting a fund raising activity for Eilish Gormley who will travel to Africa this summer as part of a 'Friends of Africa' project. It involves a night of nostalgia when the 1995 mens Championship Final between ourselves and Moortown will be screened in the Patrician. Kick off is at 8pm on Sat Jan 28th. Admission is £5. Proceeds in aid of Friends of Africa. All support appreciated for what is a very worthy cause. The Nally Gym continues to be a valuable resource for personal and team preparation but as we will all be aware it costs money to maintain it. Everyone using the facility has an obligation to pay for its use as they would if attending any gym. The club are presently having a look at gym arrangements but for the interim period members of An Charraig Mhór GFC pay £2.50 per session and non club members £5 per session. Presentation Night will be held on Feb 18th when we will honour our Senior Ladies and our President for 2012 Packie Mc Philips. Key dates this year also included the Summer Camp which will be on the week beginning July 9th. Also in the pipeline is the Paudie O’Sé Tournament with both our ladies and mens senior teams travelling to Kerry for that weekend at the end of February. Club Shop – new gloves for youth players are now in stock with the Carmen crest on them. Ages from 5-6 up to 10-11. Price £12. Shop will be open again on Wed 25th Jan from 8 -9pm.
