Club Notes 19th December 2011
The club would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year. Thanks to all those who have worked for and supported the club in any way during 2011. We look forward to 2012, the 80th year of Club Naomh Colmcille, with the hope and optimism that have been a feature of our club since 1932. Congratulations to our set dancers who will represent the club and county in the Ulster final of Scor na nOg which is now fixed on January 14th in Galbally. ‘Come Dine with Carmen’ has wrapped up for Christmas but due to the great response will resume in the new year. So for those who are considering it there is still the opportunity to get involved. Anyone interested please get in touch with coordinators Etaoine O’Kane 07704913303 or Eilish Gormley 07769266002. The prize for the winning host is a 200 euro voucher for Mc Nean house, leading restaurant of chef Neven Maguire, in Blacklion. Youth Presentation Night took place in the Patrician last Wednesday. About 150 of our young members attended. Thanks to all our young boys & girls, their parents and coaches for attending. Thanks to Anna McCaughey , Neamh Woods and our senior players Kevin Mc Nally, Mark Donnelly and Colm Mc Gurk who helped with the presentations. Thanks also to Conor Gormley for his part in the presentations and for his short talk to the parents and young players on the topic of ‘Give Respect Get Respect’. Naimh Mc Elduff deserves special mention for her beautiful singing which entertained us on the night. A big thank you is also extended to the ladies who provided and served the food. Gaeltacht Scholarships were presented on Thursday evening in the Clubrooms. See website for pictures. Club Merchandise/Christmas Club - Shop will be open on Wednesday evening 21st December from 8-9pm. All goods ordered need to be collected please.
