An Charraig Mhór v Ardboe
A seventh league win on the trot was secured on Sunday at Ardboe with a convincing 4 point win, leaving Carrickmore sitting second on the league table to Coalisland by a single point.
A double save by Plunkett Mc Callan in the third minute of the second half, after a penalty and a re-bound, proved to be the decisive factor in a closely fought contest.
Ardboe got off to a lively start with a well taken point from the boot of Naoise O’Neill followed quickly by a Conor Daly point at the opposite side. Kevin Mc Nally then chipped in with the first of his six points of the afternoon, and brother Ronan comfortably slotted over two frees. Frank Mc Guigan was accurate with three first half points, and two fine efforts from Paul Daly and a great individual effort from Ciaran Mc Aleer, left the half time score at 6 points to 9 in Carmen’s favour.
Ciaran Fox and Brendan Martin opened their own personal accounts with a point each after the restart while Frank Mc Guigan kept Ardboe in touch. A final flourish from Kevin Mc Nally and some good midfield play by Conor Gormley and Paul Daly saw Carrickmore collect the two points on a final score line of 14 points to 10.
