An Charraig Mhór 1-11; Beragh 1-06

The minor girls recorded a fine win over neighbours Beragh in their first league outing of the year on Saturday 24th March 2007. Played in glorious conditions in Pairc Colmcille, this young Carmen team displayed high levels of skill and determination to produce a commanding first half performance that effectively sealed the victory. However, they severely took their foot of the pedal in the second period which could ultimately have cost them the match. Arlene Fox pulled the strings at centre half forward, while full forward McGeown found her range on 5 occasions, benefiting from good supply from the midfield area. The move of the match resulted in corner forward Kerry Ward slamming the ball to the corner of the Red Knights net. Unfortunately, Carmen’s level of fitness and motivation appeared dubious following a poor second half display which saw the home side record only 2 points.
