Appalling weather conditions at Pairc Colmcille did little to enhance this semi final clash between neighbours, but in spite of that both sides served up some passages of attractive football, with Carmen advancing to the final.
Carmen had the advantage of the elements in the first half and used the conditions to good effect establishing a 1-08 to 0-02 lead that was always going to be difficult to overhaul. On target for Carmen in that half were Gary McCrory(0-04,2f), Brian McCallan (1-0), Sean Daly(0-02, 1f), Niall Daly(0-01) and Adrian Martin(0-01).
Pomeroy came out for the second period and needed to assert themselves to get back into the game, but as luck would have it the wind had dropped somewhat and they could not put real pressure on the home sides dogged defence. Scores were hard to come by but Carmen held their own with 1-02 all from Gary McCrory.
