The Glenavon Hotel in Cookstown was the setting for a glittering occasion as An Charraig Mhor Naomh Colmcille proudly put on display the unprecedented array of silverware collected during the 2005 season.
Cathaoirleach Coiste Contae Thír Eoghain, Pat Darcy, presented the U-21 championship trophy to joint captains Kieran Fox and Ronan McNally, and the captain of the senior championship winning team, Brain Gormley, was later invited to receive the O’Neill Cup. Reserve team Captain Noel Slane was the proud recipient of the Reserve League trophy.
For the fifth year in a row the senior ladies championship trophy, the Masterskreen Cup, will reside at Pairc Colmcille; Roger Keenan did the honours on this occasion and Captain Connie Fox received the cup and the applause. Connie was also on hand to accept the senior league trophy.
On a memorable night of celebration, a particularly warm round of applause was reserved for the presentation of the Presidential Medal by Chairman Arthur McCallan, to the incoming Club President, a true stalwart of the club, Oliver Kerr. Oliver has served the club over many decades as an outstanding player, coach and administrator. Many of the players from the great Club Colmcille sides of this decade and the last, were coached as youngsters by Oliver. Not only did Oliver teach the skills of the game but he also passed on the ethos of the association and the principals of integrity and fair play.
The club made special presentations to All Stars Conor Gormley and Paul Hughes and to All Star nominee, Connie Fox.
